Hello, level 4 Reading!

My name is Ruth, and I’m happy you stopped by our class blog.  I am interested to get to read your posts this semester and looking forward to getting to know all of you better.

I was born in Hollywood, California, and have lived in 3 states other than Pennsylvania.  I grew up in Lancaster, PA My husband and I now live in State College, where we enjoy getting to know our neighbors and taking care of our garden.  I love spending time reading, being outside, cooking, and being with friends and family.

This summer, my husband and I traveled to France to visit friends and go to a wedding.  It was wonderful!  The photo at the top of this entry is from that visit.

I came to State College to begin my undergrad degree in piano performance and French.  When I studied abroad in France, I realized how thankful I was for welcoming people there, and I decided I wanted to welcome international students to the US. As a result, I pursued my masters in Teaching English as a Second Language. I love teaching ESL because I get to meet fascinating people (like you!) from all over the world, and I have the amazing opportunity to learn from each of them.  So thank you for being here!
